POSITION SUMMARY:
The Technical Sales Engineer oversees and coordinates the total business relationship between the company and the customer.  This includes but is not limited to leased and/or purchased equipment, loaned equipment, Technical Service, Engineering, and Service support.  They also analyze the profitability of each account and act accordingly in the on-going development of the business relationship.  The Technical Sales Engineer works with both citrus and non-citrus applications.

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintains open lines of communication on a programmed schedule with the various contacts at each customer location.  Continually assesses the customer’s needs and priorities.
• Develop action plans to support the customer’s needs including the priority of each activity required to respond to the customer’s needs.  Action plans are to involve other people or groups, internal and external to the company, as appropriate.
• Introduces new or improved technology to the customer as it is developed by the company.
• Analyzes revenue and cost data on customer accounts.  Develops strategies and plans to improve margins.
• Provides information within the company to ensure that all groups are kept properly informed of pending project status for their planning purposes.
• Oversees project execution to ensure timely completion.
• Ensures timely billing and payment of customer invoices.
• Submits required sales/activity reports on a timely basis.
• Prepares budgets for sales activities as required.
• Analyzes and writes technical reports.

GENERAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Follows proper safety procedures and safeguards others’ safety at all times, understanding the obligation to refuse to perform any tasks that are unsafe.
• Maintains assigned work area in clean and orderly manner.
• Accepts travel assignments including to foreign countries.
• Accepts job assignments for any type of work for which the employee is deemed qualified.
• Accepts other duties as assigned including working in other departments or locations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
• Must be familiar with basic operations of food processing including production, safety, sanitation, quality assurance, and cost management.
• Must have exemplary verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop and write quotes and proposals.
• Must have basic computer literacy in electronic communications, word processing, spreadsheets, database.
• Must have the ability to understand technical documents, laboratory and field data, proposal and lease documents.
• Valid Florida Drivers License.  Must have reliable vehicle to travel between job sites.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: 
• Capable of lifting 25 pounds.
• Capable of working in temperature and non-temperature controlled environment.
• Capable of climbing, bending, squatting, and reaching above shoulder height.
• Capable of working around moving equipment and machinery.
• Capable of working various shifts as required.
