Description Overview
Coordinate daily production activities so as to meet business objectives.
General expectation include…Responsibility for Safety, Quality, Customer Service and Costs related to the shift production, including but not limited to:

• Scheduling / Downtime

• Coach, Develop, and Motivate your team.
• Hold your employees accountable.
• Keep your team informed.
• Ensure effective inter and intra department communication.
Essential Functions
• Foster/ enforce a Safety conscious atmosphere; insure both Corporate and OSHA regulations are met. Conduct accident investigations as needed.
• Enforce all Quality Standards established by plant and corporate management.
• Establish clear responsibilities and expectations for each position and ensure that each employee meets these standards. Take action to address any development needs
• Coordinate day-to-day activities of a team of direct reports, including staffing and attendance.
• Establish and maintain a positive work environment including personnel policy development, training safety and housekeeping.
• Maintain reporting information for accuracy (i.e. Infinium, BPCS and LogPro)
• Maintain Communication with other departments to ensure support for successful operations.
• Support employees by coaching, mentoring and resolving mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity, job capabilities, and equipment capabilities.
• Ensure Production efficiency through daily monitoring compared to standard, implementing changes to exceed standard.
• Administer Coaching and Corrective Action as necessary
• Ensures compliance of GMP’s, SOP’s, LOTO, Administrative Policy and Procedures.
• Ensure master sanitation program is being followed.
• Ensure company handbook and union contract rules and guidelines are consistently administered.
• Make sure all employees are following Standard Operating Procedures.
• Follow specified assigned area roles and responsibility as it applies.
• Control of cost in all phases of plant operation
• Review and recommend improvement in all aspects pertaining to production.
Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent a must, Associates Degree in Food/Dairy Science a plus.
• At least 5 years experience in manufacturing environment. Cultured Products manufacturing knowledge a plus.
• Good Computer knowledge is essential.
• Ability to work well with people.
• Communication skills are a must.
• The ability to tactfully coordinate the activities of others without having supervisory authority over them
• Good math skills including working with fractions, percents and decimals
• Good reading, writing, and communication skills
• Excellent organization skills
• Basic to intermediate understanding of engineering, electronics, and pneumatics
• Able to work Holidays and Weekends
