POSITION CI ENGINEER
RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:

 

Reporting directly to the CI Manager, the CI Engineer/Black Belt is responsible for the following, but not limited to:

 

Ø  Work with CI Manager to define and scope improvement opportunities

Ø  Leads and executes breakthrough and continuous improvement projects to improve and sustain QUALITY, SAFETY, COST, and DELIVERY of the organization.

Ø  Develops and applies necessary technical skills to deliver improvement results

Ø  Strong understanding/experience with Lean Six Sigma philosophy including Value Stream Mapping, DMAIC, and standard work.

Ø  Coaches, trains (Green Belts) and develops team members and other plant personnel

Ø  Engages all personnel in all phases of improvement work

Ø  Develops strong technical network with plant resources

Ø  Maintains appropriate documentation  including project charter, progress updates and final reports

Ø  Captures and communicates learning to enable best practice replication

Ø  Assists with the development of productivity pipe line projects

Ø  Complete at least four $250,000.00 projects per year

Ø  Working closely with supervisors, operators, maintenance and support functions to improve manufacturing performance

Ø  Analyze information and make recommendations based on verified testing and data

 

 

Experience / Skills Required:

Ø  Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering, Food Science, Statistics or relevant technical area.

Ø  Black Belt (BB) certified and Lean proficient required. 

Ø  Minimum 2 to 3 years continuous improvement or relevant experience

Ø  Strong project management skills

Ø  Team Leadership skills

Ø  Strong Analytical skills

Ø  Detailed oriented

Ø  Training and Mentoring skills to develop Green Belts preferred

Ø  Ability to challenge the status quo and work effectively with a wide array of plant personnel

Ø  Strong computer skills

Ø  Demonstrated Leadership Skills (Team Leadership, Communication Skills, Interpersonal Savvy)

Ø  Demonstrate competencies in problem solving, decision making, excellent results driven and execution abilities, excellent communication and leadership skills, and ability to motivate others and coordinate activities in manufacturing environment.
