POSITION MAINTENANCE MANAGER / TPM
RESPONSIBILITIES

I. TPM/Maintenance Manager Position Summary

  • This position is responsible the development, implementing and analyzing working methodologies in order to improve factory efficiency and reliability, increasing asset utilization, reducing cost.
  • Provides technical and operational support for the plant infrastructure maintenance and TPM activities.
  • Drive a strong and robust Manufacturing Excellence Program through TPM philosophy.
  • Through TPM they will develop a culture of loss control and prevention, aiming at continuous improvement.
  • As a support function to production they will minimize line downtime, assist with process and operations, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • This position will also be responsible for continuing to improve the plant’s PSM (Process Safety Management) program.

Il. Position Responsibilities

  • Knowledgeable of infrastructure systems (ammonia refrigeration, electrical, steam, compressed air).
  • Knowledgeable of PSM regulations.
  • Understands and Implements TPM to drive performance for loss management.
  • Acts as a custodian for TPM and applies the TPM philosophy in all areas. 
  • Leverages the relationship and integration between the pillars.
  • Measures and reports on TPM performance.
  • Applies TPM framework, tools and techniques across extended supply chain.
  • Translates TPM into the local culture.
  • Effectively communicates change to factory teams to reduce barriers to change.
  • Manages the implementation of change i.e. new processes, product and ways of working.
  • Works with TLE Leader to identify any skills required to effectively perform job duties.
  • Continuously reviews the impact of change and adapts the process to achieve the end goal as necessary.
  • Monitors performance associated with the change and communicates with relevant stakeholders lessons learnt.
  • In depth understanding of individual items of packaging equipment and integrated systems, how they operate, impact on product quality, fault diagnosis & corrective action.
  • Understands the application of TPM to category technology.
  • Understands key types if machinery equipment, suppliers and Unilever functional specification requirements.
  • Integrates hygiene standards with packing equipment design.
  • Lead or participate in HAZOP/Tech Design reviews, studies.
  • Provides specialist knowledge in the packing aspects of innovation.
  • Develops the packaging machinery aspects of the Category Technology strategy.
  • Develops and applies effective maintenance strategy by asset and instrumentation and control e.g. Condition Based Maintenance (CBM), lubrication management, time based maintenance. 
  • Target and goal setting (1, 3, 5 years).
  • Ability to become HAZWOPER certified, be an emergency response member and have knowledge of the EAP (emergency Action Plan).

Scope

  • Manages TPM and infrastructure systems with 6 direct reports and 41 indirect reports.
  • Must be able to work across multiple shifts and multiple shift schemes.
  • Responsible for setting the direction and change efforts. Influencing the leadership team and TPM Pillar to accomplish site goals will be an integral requirement of this position.
  • Responsible for R&M spending, AMMS system to deliver effective maintenance and equipment reliability.
  • Is responsible to drive department to meet targeted objectives for customer case fill.
  • Improve Team delivery of all KPI’s within each product team to reduce cost within the operation.

Skills & Competencies

  1. B.S. in Technical area (Engineering or related field of study, TPM based educational training) with 5 to 7 years manufacturing experience, preferably in food, pharmaceutical or beverage products.
  2. Previous department or team leadership experience required.
  3. Working experience with order fulfillment, manufacturing or maintenance management, team development and project management is also required.
